A story of passion, adventure and innovation
The story begins in a garage in the Loire Valley, at the foot of Pilat, the land of bicycles. Two enthusiasts, Guy Cavalerie and David Rouméas, launched the Cavalerie project. A story of passion, cycling and innovation.
20 years of history...
THE BET
In 2002, Guy Cavalerie, founder of the brand, helped a friend build his own DH. It incorporated a caster angle adjustment system. The foundation stone for 20 years of design and technical innovation.
GEARBOX
From 2003 to 2009, Guy Cavalerie set himself a new challenge: to build a gearbox for his downhill bike. After 7 years of development and prototyping, the Effigear 3-axis gearbox was born, which still equips Cavalerie's bikes today.
BIRTH OF THE SQUIRREL AND THE FALCON
2011 sees the birth of the brand's first two bikes. The Squirrel, a freeride mountain bike, and the iconic Falcon, a DH. Both bikes feature Cavalerie's trademark gearboxes.
CREATION OF CAVALERIE
In 2013, the Cavalerie brand was registered and the process of industrialising and marketing the first Cavalerie bikes began. All the bikes are designed, manufactured and assembled in Pilat (42) by Guy Cavalerie and David Rouméas. They take pride in manufacturing mountain bikes made in France and working with local partners.
BIRTH OF ANAKIN
In 2014, Cavalerie broadened its range and entered the enduro scene with the presentation of the ANAKIN at the Roc d'Azur in Fréjus.
BIRTH OF ANATRAIL
In 2017, Cavalerie released the Anatrail, a derivative of the Anakin with 140mm of front to rear travel and a 29’ frame.
NEW PREMISES
In 2020, David Rouméas and Vincent Lecornu joined forces and took over the company in order to finalise its product and commercial development. The company expanded and the Effigear and Cavalerie workshops moved to Maclas, at the foot of the region's most beautiful singles.
RETURN OF THE JEDI - ANAKIN V2
2022 marked the brand's renewal with the update of the Anakin. The bike has been redesigned while retaining Cavalerie's heritage and identity. The geometry and design have been modernised, and the bike has been designed using a modular approach: a bike available in three different configurations for efficient, committed riding on our favourite mountain terrain.
CAVALERIE E-BIKE
Presented at Eurobike 2021 in Friedrichshafen. The Cavalerie e-bike, equipped with the Smart e-bike system, an engine developed by Valeo x Effigear.
